From Mestre Recruta:
Thank you to all of the people that have contributed to this amazing journey that has become such a rewarding way of life. I came to capoeira as a kid that had no idea what my life might have in store, and as the years went by, here I stand, a man that feels like I can make a difference in peoples lives through an art that is physical, mental, philosophical, communal and so much more. To my mestres, Mestre Acordeon, Mestre Rã, and Mestra Suelly, there isn't a day that goes by that I am not grateful from the deepest part of my heart for all that you have given me. To my turma, we have sweat and laughed toegher, been through incredible times and some rough ones. I wouldn't trade any of it for any other group of people to grow up with. To my students fom Hayward and all the students from the Mestres academy in Berkeley that i have had the honor and privilege to teach over th yeras, thank you for letting me write stories in the books of your lives. The trust that you have put in me as a0t eacher and a friend keeps me working harder everyday to be better than who I was yesterday. To all the Mestres that I have had the chance to earn a friendship with and respect form, your contributions to who I am as a person are invaluable. And to my peers that kicked me and that I've gotten to kick back and grow with, let the good times and memories keep us always young at heart like so many of the mestres that have inspired us over the years.
